2021 Charles Schwab Challenge Expert Picks and Tournament Preview

Charles Schwab Challenge LogoPreviously known as the Crowne Plaza Invitational, the DEAN & DELUCA Invitational and the Fort Worth Invitational, the tournament once again has a name change to the Charles Schwab Challenge. Although the name keeps changing, the tournament is still recognized as The Colonial and the winner also still gets to don a Scottish tartan plaid jacket.

The Charles Schwab Challenge is one of only 5 PGA Tour events that are given the “Invitational” status and so the field is a smaller one at 120 players. Played at the Colonial Country Club, it is annually listed as one of America’s Top 100 golf courses and is also known as the House of Hogan. Players – especially those from Texas, cherish an invite to the Colonial Tournament and a new title sponsor will hopefully keep this great tournament a continuing success.

2021 Charles Schwab Challenge Tourney Preview

The 2021 Charles Schwab Challenge is part of a busy stretch for top PGA Tour players. Last week had a major, next week is the Memorial Tournament and 2 weeks after that is the US Open.

Which players will commit to the tournament remains to be seen as well as some may take a pass on playing the week after a major. This is a smaller 120 golfer field and already has some top players coming so making picks and finding sleepers will be a bit easier given the names playing this week.

There will be a pretty star studded field for the Charles Schwab Challenge with many top golfers like Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, Justin Rose, Collin Morikawa and Gary Woodland making early commitments. For fantasy players there will be lots of names to consider for DFS lineups.
