Expert Sleeper Picks for the HSBC Champions Tournament

WGC - HSBC Champions Golf Course

Sheshan International Golf Club

A par 72 7266 yard course Sheshan International is an average course and given that the HSBC tournament has been played there every year but one since 2005 you can expect the top players that get invited every year to have an edge regarding course history.

Sheshan is not a tough course and with wider fairways I think it is better to have a little length off the tee and give up a bit in driving accuracy this week. From past years having a solid approach game and solid putting is the key to winning. Over the last 5 years the WGC winners putted an average of 26.1 putts per round. Look for players that have a good putter going and have a good history on Bent grass greens. The reason to also target long hitters is that the four Par 5’s at Sheshan are some of the easier holes to score on and taking advantage of Par 5 scoring is great way to dominate the field. Check out the field for who’s been solid in Par 5 scoring stats in the last few weeks leading up to the HSBC Champions Tournament. If you are doing a DraftKings lineup it is important to pay attention to the scoring system and target sleeper picks that will score well this week.

2019 WGC-HSBC Fantasy Golf Sleeper Picks

Ian Poulter - Poulter has played well the last two weeks with a 13th and a 16th place finish in Asia. Poulter isn't intimidated playing against the best in the world and to be a cheap price at DraftKings this week is worth taking advantage of as a sleeper pick for the HSBC Champions Tournament.
