2021 AT&T Byron Nelson Sleeper Picks

AT and T Byron Nelson Sleeper PicksAfter last week’s PGA Tour star studded field for the Wells Fargo the AT&T Byron Nelson will have nothing but sleeper picks for you to choose from since many big names are taking a week off to rest up for the second major of the year - the 2021 PGA Championship.

That being said, there are still some big names playing this week but they will be the costly DFS picks. Headlining the Byron Nelson tournament are Masters Champion Hideki Matsuyama, Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, Will Zalatoris, Jason Day, Dustin Johnson, Jon Rahm, & Bryson DeChambeau. After that, the name recognition drops off considerably unless you play DFS golf games week after week and are used to looking at the bottom of the list for sleeper picks for tournaments. If you are looking for sleeper picks for the AT&T Byron Nelson all you have to do is throw a dart at the field and chances are you’ve found one…What you need to do is find the sleepers that will help you win your daily fantasy golf lineups this week.

This is also a great week to practice up for the big fantasy golf contests held for the majors. FanDuel is running their big contest for the major and DraftKings will have their Fantasy Golf Millionaire Contest along with a freeroll as well. AT&T Byron Nelson Golf Course

TPC Craig Ranch par 71 - 7,438 yards

2021 will be the first year the tournament will be held at the TPC Craig Ranch. It was previousely played at Trinity Forrest GC so this will be a new course for everyone to adapt to.

There are four Par 5’s on the course with the shortest being the 12th hole at 493 yards. Par 4 scoring is the key stat for the week as you will want to find the golfers that take advantage of the Par 4’s and get the birdie chances. That leads into another often overlooked stat - Par Breakers. A course like TPC Craig Ranch gives up a lot of birdies and eagles and the Par Breakers stat is a combination of both stats and who does well at it. Find the low cost sleepers that are ranked high on the Par Breakers list on the PGA Tour site.

At 7438 yards this is a longer course and you’ll want to find the guys that will drive it long to set up for a shorter second short to give them a chance for a birdie or an eagle if they can reach the green in two on the par 5’s.

Look at putting stats namely strokes gained putting which determines which golfers pick up the most strokes due to making putts from various distances and the number of putts taken. With bigger greens to aim at you will have a lot of longer putts to contend with.

Weather could be a factor this week as the Texas winds can kick up and with very few trees to protect the ball you may want to take a peek at what the weatherman has to say to see if there is an advantage for the morning/afternoon tee off times.

As always, don’t trust us, trust the experts at Golfstats.com. Their fantasy golf and betting picks come out usually Monday or Tuesday of the tournament week so now would be a good time to register (remember to use our GolfStats Coupon Code GOLFBONUS to get a discount on the membership) and see who the experts pick as the favorites and sleepers for the Byron Nelson golf tournament.

2021 AT&T Byron Nelson Sleeper Picks

Will Zalatoris - Since his 2nd place finish at the Masters, Zalatoris has a T42 and a MC last week. He has too much talent for this “slump” to last too long and on a course that nobody in the field has played professionally Zalatoris could be an under the radar sleeper pick this week to compete for his first career win. He will be using the tournament as a tune up for next week’s PGA Championship but he could be in contention by the end of the weekend.

Vincent Whaley - Going off the board a bit on a sleeper pick who is more of a longshot especially if you are looking for an outright winner. As a DraftKings sleeper pick Whaley is an intriguing pick to consider. Whaley has made 8 straight cuts and played decently in those cuts including a strong showing in last week’s Wells Fargo tournament. Look, Whaley isn’t going to win but if you want a low cost DFS pick this week then give Whaley a strong look for your lineups.
