2019 Safeway Open Sleeper Picks

Safeway Open Sleeper PicksThe new PGA Tour season begins! Although the FedEx Cup playoffs just ended the new 2019/2020 PGA Tour season begins.

As we mention in our Safeway Open Preview page, this is a bit of a weak field since most of the top PGA Tour players sit out and don’t start up again for a while, especially since the last season just ended a month or so ago. The biggest name in the field this week is Jordan Spieth but a few more will commit on the final Friday.

We have some of our Safeway Open Sleeper picks that you can use for either fantasy golf or make a bet with but if you want some true expert picks that you can count on go to GolfStats.com and use their picks.

The Golf Course

Silverado Country Club in Napa, California

Silverado is a Par 72, and is 7,166 yards in length. The course allows for a good opportunity for scoring as all of the winners on the Silverado course have shot at least -15 over the four days. As a Par 72 course it has four par fives which play as the easiest four holes throughout the tournament. The fairways at Silverado are pretty narrow but because the course isn’t very long, being accurate is more important than having long distance off the tee. Find golfers who rank high in greens in regulation (GIR) and Par 5 scoring.

2019 Safeway Open Sleeper Picks For Bettors and Fantasy Golf

Kevin Chappell - Chappell missed most of last year's PGA Tour season and has finally come back to play on a medical exemption. In hi s first tournament of this year he finished in 47th and shot a 59 on the second day. He was starting to hit top DFS player status before the injury last year so he makes a great sleeper pick for the Safeway Open and probably for some of the next few tournaments.
