2021 Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship Sleeper Picks

Corales Puntacana Championship Sleeper PicksThis week is a bit of a problem for DFS fantasy golf players with two very different tournaments going on simultaneously. At the same time that the Corales Puntacana Championship is running, so too is the WGC Dell Technologies Match Play tournament being played.

The problem is that the top PGA Tour players are at the WGC Dell Match Play but because of the tournament format most daily fantasy golf sites aren’t running contests. DraftKings ran one the last time the event was held in 2019 so check in with them on the Monday to see if they are running contests again.

The Corales Championship is a standard tournament but has a really weak field from where to pick your sleepers from since the top 64 golfers in the world won’t be playing in Punta Cana this week.

Picking sleeper picks for the Corales Puntacana Championship is like shooting fish in a barrel since everyone is a sleeper pick…now you have both sleepers and longshots in the same tournament and not many favorites to win.

Or you can avoid all of this grief and get fantasy and sleeper picks for DraftKings from the guys at Golfstats. We use their picks when we make contests lineups so why not use a site that is helping guys like us cash in weekly at all the DFS sites. Try them out for a year by joining Golfstats using our Golfstats Coupon Code GOLFBONUS and save some money on the yearlong membership. Even the best fantasy golf players aren’t right every week so you need to look at the whole year as an investment for it to pay off. Try them out…you won’t regret it!

Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship Golf Course

Corales Golf Club par 72 - 7,670 yards

2018 was the first year that the Corales Puntacana Championship was a PGA Tour event. It was previously a Web.com Tour event so there are some players that have played there and some course history to consider. It is a longer course at almost 7700 yards but this seems to be a bit of a birdie fest course with winning scores ranging from -18 to -24.

Driving distance will be a key stat as will par 5 scoring which go hand in hand on a course like this that gives up scoring chances. The fairways are wide and very forgiving so accuracy stats don’t play in as much this week. The course is pretty flat even though it is set Cliffside along the ocean and the winds can affect the ball at times but given the low scores weather hasn’t been much of an issue in the past.

This is an opportunity for fringe PGA Tour players to get a win on tour and get into the major tournaments so there is motivation for guys playing this week. Once you’ve analyze stats for the week, focus on guys that have played the last few weeks and have played well as your sleeper picks for the Corales Puntacana Championship. With new rookies on the tour and old vets trying to keep their card, this is a wide open tournament with a lot of guys having a chance to win on Sunday.

Putting will also be a stat to look at with guys looking at converting eagle opportunities from longer distances. The greens are made of a Paspalum grass which isn’t very common but some events on tour have them.

We have summarized some of the key stats for the week below but ultimately you want to fill your lineups with guys that are playing well leading up to the tournament that can hit it long and are good putters. When making sleeper picks, keep those thoughts in mind when looking near the bottom of the salary cap ranks for DFS picks this week.
